Outreach Ministries

Ministry of the Sick:
Please notify us immediately when you register a family member at any of the local hospitals. Priests from Resurrection Parish visit the hospitals daily. However, you must make sure that you are on the hospital list and notify the parish office, otherwise we have no way of knowing that you are hospitalized.

The following hospitals are attended to by the parish in which they are located:
* Gulf Coast Hospital - visited daily by St. John XXIII Parish, 561-2245
* Lee Memorial Hospital - visited daily by St. Francis Xavier Parish, 334-2161
* Lee Memorial and Hospice at Health Park - visited daily by St. Columbkille Parish, 489-3973

If you are scheduled to have surgery and would like to meet with a priest beforehand for Confession and Blessing of the Sick
please call the parish office to schedule an appointment, 481-7171.

To protect your privacy hospitals do not pass out information on patients without their permission.

If you wish a visit from one of the Resurrection priests please notify the hospital as well as the parish office, 481-7171 or 481-7172, as quickly as possible. Resurrection priests visit the above hospitals daily.

Bereavement and Lazarus Ministries:
In the name of Jesus Christ, we have established an organized response to the needs of the members of this parish who are grieving the death of a significant person in their lives. The goal of this ministry is that no member of our faith community grieves alone. Those grieving need to feel God's love in time of crisis and pain. A caring community needs to heed Jesus' call to bring His love to those who are suffering. Please consider being a part of this ministry.
"Rejoice with those who rejoice, and mourn with those who mourn." Romans 12:15

St. Vincent DePaul Society:
The St. Vincent DePaul Society was founded over 100 years ago in Paris, France, and named in honor of the great saint who spent his life assisting the poor. Besides working to alleviate the needs of the poor in the parish itself, the Conference of the Church of the Resurrection helps the many transients who arrive in the area and find themselves in immediate need of financial help for necessitates such as food. The Society is a volunteer group and is funded by voluntary donations, mainly through the "Poor Boxes" situated at the entrances of the church. For more information, please see the St Vincent DePaul page on this website.
